Well Drilling
There's more to a Well than a hole in the ground.
It seems so simple...dig a hole and the water will just bubble up, right? Not really. For a safe, dependable water supply, you need the expertise of an experienced well driller. To connect that water source to your custom manufactured home, you need subcontractors with a keen understanding of the complexities of manufactured housing. Let Schiavi Home Builders handle the contracting, scheduling and management of this vital task.
Drilling the well is just a part of the job. To bring water into your home from a drilled well, you'll also need an electrician who is familiar with this work. You'll need help from an excavating contractor, too. You'll need someone with the skill to cut a hole in your foundation and the know-how to waterproof that hole to prevent foundation leaks. You'll need someone who understands the weather fluctuations in your area, too, to frost proof the water line from the well to your home.
Finally, you'll need someone who can anticipate issues like access for the well rig, the backfill material and the excavating equipment. Not to mention someone who can look at your site and tell you the best location for your well to avoid interference with the delivery of your new home!
You may choose to work with your own Maine well driller. If you do, please understand that this may cause delays and add cost to your project. For the best result, include all well drilling requirements in the general contracting agreement you make with Schiavi Home Builders.
